I have been watching tennis at the Olympics the other day. Not that I am a big fan of tennis, and watching it is not super exciting, but I liked the visual aspect of it and especially the motion of the tennis ball. I opened Illustrator and started playing around creating tennis posters and trying to imitate ball's motion without making it really obvious.
In some ways I was playing with this project because I discovered this neat Illustrator feature called Blend. Probably I am 20 years late to this party, but anyway, for those who didn't know and want to create similar graphics in 2 seconds.
When you create two objects, you can Blend stuff in between. That is both shape and color. In my case I have just two circles, one blue and one green. Select both objects and click Blend tool in your Illustrator tool panel (one right under the Gradient tool). Then click on one object and then on the second one, to create a blend between them. If you double click Blend icon you'll get extra Options to control your blend, such as amount of steps. Have fun!
My favorite feature in Illustrator is the one where you only see outlines of the objects CMD+Yv
