From Austria we headed to Barcelona where annual OFFF festival was taking place again. I love Barcelona, I do think it is one of the best cities in Europe. I've been there so many times and always ready to come back over and over again. I love the atmosphere this city has, culture and I think it is extremely beautiful.
There's something special with the cities that are on the coast. Historically harbor cities (especially in Europe) were the richest ones; places that connected all the trading routes leading to having richest people, innovations and technologies, all sorts of overseas goods etc. I was born on the coast (St. Petersburg), grew up on the coast (Tallinn), lived on the coast (Stockholm and New York) for my entire life and when I am deep inside the land without seeing the sea, I feel a little claustrophobic.
During the week, before OFFF festival, we got a chance to make a full 2 hour presentation at Elisava School of Design in Bacelona. The school was very impressive and extremely well equipped. I wish I was studying there.
2 awesome photos with silhouettes below were made by a photographer from the school, there's a whole set on Flickr from that day.
I've been to OFFF festival maybe 5-6 time already. Starting from the days when it was "traveling" (was held in different cities each year). Last year we had a great opportunity to present there for the first time including myself (Creative Director at Fi), Irene (Director of UX and Strategy at Fi) and Claudio (Art Director at Fi). Here are some photos from our last year presentation.
After that "I was promoting" OFFF 2013 in the marquee of the home page of the festival for a year :D
This year we were honored to be invited again as speakers to OFFF 2013 where we showed out latest (and greatest) presentation. It was held in the same venue as last year, pretty awesome DISSENY HUB Barcelona.
Below are some photos from our presentation. Thanks a lot to our friend Gus Ocampo who was taking pictures! Otherwise we wouldn't have anything :D And thanks to everyone who came over to see our talk there, the room was pretty packed!
