My parents are both fashion designers, it's actually a very long story, but I got influenced by fashion and clothing a lot. I grew up among Singer sewing machines, endless rolls of textiles, patterns, overlocks and at the age of 6 knew how to sew.
They both lived and worked in India with Lecoanet Hemant and did hi-end fashion clothing and collections for haute couture shows. Lots of celebrities had red carpet appearance wearing what they did including Shakira, Pink, Katherine Heigl, Lisa Edelstein, Alexandra Daddario and lots of others who I don't really know.
Not that long ago they visited New York City and were asking me to make a portfolio for them, leaving a USB stick behind with lots of photos and sketches of their works. I completely forgot about it until recently when I needed to copy some files to that USB and noticed a folder with their work. My mom was always talking about who was wearing her clothing, but not really my dad. I opened dad's folder and started going through JPGs until noticed a folder with very familiar name. No way I though. Folder had 3 images:
1. A jacket production sketch and number it belonged in the collection
2. A bad quality photo made with phone (I guess Nokia) with completed jacket in different angles and some close up shots.
3. A screen shot of some fashion website with Michael Jackson wearing this exact jacket!!!
I turned on "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" on Spotify remembering all my BASF tapes I was collecting with Michael Jackson's music when I was a kid.
